Acceptance of terms and conditions
Use of the Margit Wittig website implies acceptance of the following terms and conditions. If you do not agree to the terms and conditions you may not use the website.

1. About the products
1.1  Each Margit Wittig piece is hand-made and unique, including the Studio Collection of lamps. Small imperfections and variations in colour, shape and size are an intrinsic part of the craft fabrication.
1.2  All weights, dimensions and capacities given are approximate only. The height of table and floor lamps is given to the top of the electrical fitting (not the shade).
1.3  The components used in Margit Wittig lamps are not fixed to the core post so that they can be swivelled to best suit their locations.
1.4  Lampshades featured on the website are used for illustration purposes only and are not available for sale through Margit Wittig.

2. Ordering and payment
2.1  A quotation is supplied for all orders confirming: full details of the goods ordered, the cost, approximate dimensions and weight, packing and delivery charges and an estimated delivery date.
2.2  By placing your order you confirm that you have read, checked and approved all details in the quotation and that you agree to these terms & conditions.
2.3  On receipt of your order, we will send an invoice for the required deposit (minimum 50%) receipt of which is required for work to commence. 
2.4  On receipt of deposit, we will confirm the delivery date. 
2.5  When the order is ready for dispatch, an invoice is issued for the balance.
2.6  Orders are released for dispatch when full payment, including all delivery charges, is received and cleared.
2.7  All quotations and invoices are in Pounds Sterling (GBP). If paying from a non-GBP account, customer payment must include all exchange and bank charges.
2.8  In the event that an order is cancelled after work has started on it, we reserve the right to retain the deposit.
2.9  Any changes to specification requested for items in production will incur additional costs, which will be paid by the customer before such changes are made.

3. Packing, delivery and collections
3.1  We can deliver worldwide and separate costs for packing and delivery are shown with the product quotation.
3.2  Any taxes payable at the destination port, customs clearance fees, or any other costs, are the responsibility of the customer.  
3.3.  Goods must be inspected thoroughly on arrival within 48 hours. Prompt notification within 48 hours of any damage incurred in transit, along with supporting photographic evidence, is required to process any insurance claim. If damage in transit is confirmed, replacement goods will be supplied as quickly as possible at no additional charge. 
3.4. Any damage that occurs after delivery is not the responsibility of Margit Wittig.
3.5  Customers organising their own shipping, accept full responsibility for the product and it’s shipping once collected from our premises. Any damage incurred thereafter will not be our responsibility.

4. Installation
4.1  Fixings are not supplied for ceiling hung and wall mounted items. It is the sole responsibility of the customer to supply such fixings and to ensure that items are fixed properly and safely for the their weight and for the ceiling or wall structure. 
4.2  Ceiling hung and wall mounted lights must be installed by a qualified electrician in accordance with building and other regulations that apply in the country of installation, and is not the responsibility of Margit Wittig.
4.3  For orders of electrical items for North America, E26 fittings are supplied. A silk or plastic flex is used for these fittings.  All individual parts used are UL rated. We do not supply E26 bulbs and these must be supplied by the customer.

5. Legal Jurisdiction
5.1  The Margit Wittig website is managed and operated from our offices within England and the laws of England and Wales govern claims relating to it, including any use of the website and all the information and images contained within it.
5.2  If you choose to access our website from outside England and Wales, you do so on your own initiative and you hereby agree that in the event of a dispute between Margit Wittig and you, the laws of England and Wales will apply at all times.
5.3  We are committed to establishing harmonious long-term relationships with our customers. In the event of any dispute, we will always endeavour to resolve matter to the satisfaction of all parties.  

6. Copyright and intellectual property rights
6.1  Margit Wittig LTD retains full rights to its intellectual property in relation to its products, including copyright of images, design and drawings exclusively prepared by Margit Wittig, copy from the Margit Wittig website or any online or printed media prepared by Margit Wittig or on its behalf, and that these rights belong solely to Margit Wittig LTD.

7. Disclaimer
7.1  Margit Wittig accepts no responsibility and will have no liability for any claim arising through following advice, or using information of any kind stated on this website or through any form of communication, verbal or otherwise with Margit Wittig or its agents.

8. Keeping in touch
8.1  All customers who provide their email address to make an enquiry, request a quotation or purchase our goods will be added to our mailing list to be kept up to date with special events, news and product launches. Please notify us by email if you wish us to remove your details from our e-mailing list. 
8.2   Your details will only ever be used by Margit Wittig LTD and are never passed on to any third party.
