The New Moon Gold Collection

Inspired by my grandmother’s necklace, I wanted to make an extremely elegant jewellery-like piece of lighting. The first design was the Moon Gold pendant light; using my signature bronze-coloured sculptural elements with a hand applied 22-karat gold leaf finish. I created a smooth, calm single drop pendant. The chain is made of hand forged metal links varying in size and is connected by her gilded signature Pearl design. Finally, adds a mouth blown glass sphere shade, finished in silver leaf, where heat from the process of glass blowing has turned it into streaks of soft gold.

As part of the Moon Gold collection, Wittig has also made a Moon Gold table lamp. By day, this piece’s complexion is smooth, calm gold but it comes to life at night when switched on. The rays from the bulb dancing differently on each element, it narrates the brilliant illumination that Wittig thinks of when picturing her grandmother wearing her favourite necklace.
